This cake was made for my fiend Wimala's son for his b'day party.Aaron is a medical student and he got a chance to work in a hospital in Indonesia this summer.Wimala asked me if I could make a doctor themed prank Cake for his party.She also send me the pic of Aaron in his doctor costume :).She always comes up with cool ideas when it comes to Cake.In the last couple years I have made some interesting Cakes for her..Cap Cake ,Bomb Cake,Book Cake......

The flavor was Egg less Red Velvet Cake with Whipped cream filling and Iced with butter cream.The figures were hand molded with fondant/gum paste .As always fun cake to make....

This cake and cupcakes were done for my friend's daughter "kamakshi kutty" for her b'day party.Last year I got an opportunity to make her Animal themed cake.Tom and Jerry were hand molded with gumpaste.It was a lot of fun to make this cake and cupcake.All the dynamites and bomb's were also made with gumpaste.Flavors were Pistachio cardomom rose water Cake/Cupcakes.

This cake was made for a girls first b'day.Siya's mom gave me a swatch of the girl's dress which was deep purple and the edible butterflies.I came up with a simple design for her to match with the dress and decor.Flavors were bottom tier egg less vanilla with whipped cream and pineapples,middle chocolate with whipped cream and cherries and the top vanilla with whipped cream and strawberries.I also made a little cake for her which was an eggless Mango cake with french vanilla butter cream.All the Cakes were covered in MMFondant .

This cake was made for a friend's daughter for whom I made the keroppi Frog Cake Last year.This time the Cake was ordered by Sunaina's Grandma who lives in Kolkatta ,India .This was a surprise gift for her Grand daughter.So let's say this was an International order:).Me and her garndma emailed back and forth and decided on the design.
Grandma is wearing a Saree[Indian outfit] and little Sunaina, her American pajama's.The couch was made of Rice krispies and covered in fondant,grandma and baby were made with Gum paste.
The flavors were Pistachio,cardamom Cake with butter cream filling and covered in MM Fondant.

This Race Car Cake was made for my son for his 6th birthday party.We been debating which theme to make for past couple of months.He wanted me to make Transformers then it became power rangers,bakugan ,Pokemon ...at last when we went to the party store to get the party stuff he decided he wants a race car, that also 3days before the party. I decided to replicate the race car toy he had.He was so happy when he saw the finished product ...:)

The Shadow Cake was made for a client who has ordered the Nintendo and baby Shower Cake from me last year. The shadow is made out of black gum paste and covered in Cake board .The credit for this design goes to my client Gracey.She is very artistic and talented.

Hope you all are doing great and enjoying the holidays.This Cake was made for my hubby's cousin's son Sanath who turned 4 today. He is a huge fan of cars,he likes Caillou and likes to read,So what better cake than ABC's ,cars and Caillou.I know ....Caillou looks a little grown up haha...this is the older version of Caillou:).Anyway he was excited when he saw the cake and he recognized it is Caillou.
All tiers were Red Velvet cake,Botton tier had Chocolate butter cream filling and the rest 2 tiers had Vanilla.It was covered in Marshmallow fondant.

This hulk cake was made for Sanna's[Winnie the Pooh]big brother Krish for his birthday Party. He is a huge Hulk fan .His mom send me a picture of the cake and was asking me if I could do the exact same.
Hulk is a toy .You can see Hulk is trying hard to pull himself from the ground. The crack on the ground were made with crushed sugar cookies and chocolate cookies.

This cake was made for a McQueen fan for his 4th birthday party.The 3DCar was a egg free chocolate cake with Chocolate butter cream filling and Strawberry flavored Fondant.And the bottom layer was Pistachio,rose water cake with Pistachio flavored Fondant. All the rocks and cactus were made with fondant.Sally was made out of Fondant.I had a lot of fun making this cake. My son is also a huge fan of McQueen so I was being supervised by him every 5 minutes.hehe....

Club House Cake. This year she was asking for a Princess cake. Aneeka's Mom send me the picture of the Snow white cake and this is what I came up with for her.It was an egg free Vanilla Cake with Mango butter cream and Fondant decoration. Other than the Snow white body and the cake boards everything in this cake was edible.

The Mickey mouse cake was made for Vidya's [Fairy Castle Cake]little sister Radha who turned 1 last month . Radha's mom provided the Cake toppers. I used fondant to make the club house. Inspiration for this cake is from Cake central .It was a Yellow Cake with Vanilla butter cream.
The flower cake is a replica of my Wedding Anniversary cake . This cake was made for my Hubby's Manager .It was a Mango Cake with Mango butter cream and Mango flavored Fondant with Gum paste flowers

Keroppi Cake [Japanese Frog]

This cake was made for our friends Haruka and Murali's daughter Naina. Naina turned One this week. Keroppi was her first toy,so Haruka was asking me if I couid do a Keroppi 3 D cake. She send me a picture of the keroppi and this is what I came up with for baby Naina. It was a pistachio,cardamom cake covered in fondant.I also made a smash Cake for her which my son helped me decorate :).

Haruka's comment "Wow! It such a wonderful surprise to open the box and find the Keroppi Frog Cake! It was so perfect that I wanted to display and admire it longer, but kids were saying things like, "Can I eat the frog's eye?" It was so much fun. Thanks for adding a very memorable highlight to Naina's party!!"

This cake was made for a princess fan for her b'day party.Vidya is also my son's music class friend.She gave me 5 of her favorite dolls and was asking me if I could do individual colorful castles for them. This is the design I came up for her. The castles are edible made of RK and covered in MM Fondant.It was a Chocolate cake with Chocolate fudge filling and Vanilla butter cream.

These are the 2 goodies I made for my son's 5 th birthday. His b'day was the 15th but coz me and my son had flu I couldn't post these in my blog last week.

It is been quite sometime since I have made a challenging cake. This cake was made for my Hubby's b'day upon my son's request. One of the Challenging cake so far. It took me whole day to make this cake but it was worth it.The Cake was Egg less Banana,Pineapple cardamom cake[his fav] with chocolate butter cream ,covered in fondant.
When I asked my son what kind of cake we should make for his dad and he got me his toy mini cooper and asked me to make it. My son and hubby are crazy about sports cars.Little one was supervising every 5 minutes to make sure, I have carved the cake right , the color is perfect ,all the detail are like in his toy car.......but it was fun making this cake with him .:).

I had a Cookie Demo at my store last Saturday .Demo was to make Cookies looks like Christmas Ornaments. So I used regular Sugar cookies and Decorated them with Royal Icing and painted them with edible gold dust.It was a lot of fun. The Birthday Cake with yellow roses were for my hubby's friend's dad. It was a last minute cake order. The cake was a Pineapple Cardamom Cake with French Vanilla butter cream frosting with butter cream roses . The Red Rose Cake I made just for fun. I had some leftover red royal icing so made some roses and arranged on a fondant covered Cake..

20th Anniversary Cake and a long Break.

I made this cake for the 20th Anniversary of our temple SAT. The temple has an octagonal shape and lotus carvings on many of its walls and ceilings. I was planning to make a gum paste lotus but due to my shopping and packing and all the stuff didn't get enough time.My hubby wrote a small Sanskrit poem and its translation to put on top of the cake. Everything in the cake is edible. It was a pistachio,rosewater cake with pistachio butter cream. Everybody at the temple enjoyed it.
I am going on vacation and will be back with some spooky cakes:).

Mini Tierd Cake

I have always wanted to make these mini tiered cakes,but never got the oppurtunity to make it. I have to make an octagon cake for tommorrow ,and I didn't have the octagon shaped pans. So had to bake a square cake and cut the shape. I ended up with 4 tiny triangle cake pieces. So I joined them and made it in to tiered cakes.Covered it with fondant and put some tiny fondant roses.

This cake is made for one of my friends birthday, who is a huge basket ball fan and also loves to play.But he is getting old and his girl friend Wimala,who is also my friend wanted me to make this cake as a warning cake hehe....She is scared that Eric may break his leg or arms if he is not careful.That is why Sugar paste Eric has a broken arm and a leg and a crutch. I had fun making this cake.It is a Marble cake with Chocolate Ganache which I carved to make it look like a hat and covered it with Fondant.Let us hope Eric will be shocked and surprised when he see's his cake tomorrow:)

Cindrella Cake

This cake was made for a 4 year old girl. It is covered in MMFondant and all the decoration, including the bead border are made with fondant. I didn't get the perfect Cinderella doll to put on top of the cake.So I carved a styrofoam and covered it with blue fondant to make it look like skirt and put the wilton doll head on top of it. The Cinderella is not edible. The customer didn't want a 3 D cake because the little girl will not allow them to cut it as she is a huge fan of Cinderella.

This is what the customer said

It was very nice of you to make this cake for Meghana's B'day on a very short notice. The extent you went to make it to her liking simply amazed us. It really made the day. Your creativity and dexterity was noticed by all the guests and almost all the moms asked us about it.
Meghana herself remembers the cake and the birthday even to this date. She would not let anybody touch the cinderella but after a month, we reluctantly disposed it without her knowledge for the fear of the kids eating the styrofoam as they would all taste it :-)

I got a Vegan cupcake book long time back,and I have been thinking of trying some cupcakes from the book ,but was so lazy to do that. 2 days back I was going through the recipes and found an interesting recipe,Rose water,pistachio,cardomom cupcakes .Was so anxious to try it and see how it tastes.. Oh my... that was the delicious cardomom cake that I have ever tried. It was so moist,nice texture..couldn't beleive it is vegan. To make it fancy I put some ribbon roses and leavse made out of sugar paste.

Father's Day Cake

"Happy fathers's Day" .I made this cake for my husband as father's day gift. I asked my son what he wants to give his dad for Father's day and he said" let's make a cake Amma,that will be fun".So I said "Sure let's do it". My husband likes to do home projects[he is a do-it-yourself kinda guy]. Some of the house projects were disaster and we had to call the handyman :(,but some of them were good.So i decided the theme for the cake will be "home improvement projects".I saw this home improvement book at Home depot so thought will make a book something similar to that and put a sugar paste husband on top. I had a lot of fun making this cake especially because it was for him:).

This Cake was made for a 4 year old girl for her b'day party. I have made a snow white cake before which looks similar to this one. This cake was a last minute order ,so didn't have time to think for another design. Saturday around 3.00 in the evening my neighbour came and asked me if I could make a simple cake for her friends kid for the b'day party on Sunday afternoon.She was going to give a cake as a present.I didn't want to say "No" coz they are very nice people.Then I showed her my cakes and she loved the snowhite 3 D cake.She was asking me if I could do the 3 D snow white for her.I wasn't sure if I will be able to pull it together in couple of hours. I started working right away and finished it by Sunday morning. I tried to make it slightly different than the other snow white by adding a tierra,handbag,earrings and glitters.
